The Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano in 2007 in Champery met double success for Marielle Saner, winner at home of the Downhill in 2007 and our new Olympic bronze medallist in Beijing 2008, Nino Schürter climbed onto the Elite podium in Champéry in 2007, it’s again the enchanting area of the Portes du Soleil that has the privilege to welcome the Mountain Bike World Cup cross country in 2009. It is a beautiful reward for the organizers of 2007 that have foreseen almost everything and a beautiful present for the spectators who will again witness the thrilling performances of the world’s specialists.

In 2009, not less than 30 nations are waited for these races of cross-country running. Shielded from our mountains, we will welcome in this occasion a real international biking festival, which represents a major event for the sports world, and from a human point of view, a beautiful opportunity to share the common passion of mountain biking and convey the same human values.


We wish, to you every inhabitants moreover and from here, welcome. That the best win and especially, that all want to mean seeing us very soon, because our efforts haven’t been saved to return our small part of ground and our domain in a Mountain Bike paradise. Let us hope that the sun is of the party in 2009 for the cross-country event! This World Cup will already be a life-size test with in view of the UCI 2011 MTB World Championships.
